ISLAMABAD - Faraz caused huge upset in the Second Commissioner Rawalpindi Cup National Squash Championship 2016 as he outclassed Safeer Khan 3-1 in the final qualifying round match played at Benazir Squash Complex, Liaqat Bagh Tuesday.

Vastly experienced Safeer was favourite to win the tie but Faraz had other ideas . Faraz started the game on a high note and kept Safeer under pressure. His pace and movement in the court was too hot to handle for Safeer as Faraz took the first game 11-9. Safeer completely dominated the proceedings and won the second game 11-5 with utmost ease and comfort. Faraz bounced back in style and took the third game 11-8. He was ably good in the 4th game and won the game 11-8 to register highly unexpected 3-1 victory in 32 minutes.

In other matches, Kashif Asif, Saddam-ul-Haq and Salman Hashmi also booked their places in the main round. Kashif beat M Adik Faqir 3-1 in 35 minutes, 9-11, 11-9, 11-6 and 11-5. Saddam beat M Farhan 3-0 in 22 minutes 11-9, 11-8 and 11-1. Salman Hashmi defeated Salman Zaib 3-2 in 38 minutes of breath-taking squash 11-4, 12-14, 11-8, 8-11,11-9.

In U-17, Salman Shah beat Moaz Khan3-2 in 38 minutes, winning 11-8, 9-11, 11-7, 9-11 and 11-8. Owais Ahmed beat Abdullah 3-0 in 18 minutes, 11-8 11-9 and 11.2. Haris Qasim beat M Ahsan 3-0 in just 11 minutes, 11-4, 11-2 and 11-4 and Saif Ullah beat M Mubeen 3-0 in 25 minutes, 11-5, 11-6 and 11-9.

In female category, Haleema Nadeem beat Maham 3-0 in 18 minutes, 11-4, 11-2 and 11-2. Kainat Khan beat Aymaan Sadiq 3-0 in 21 minutes, 11-4, 11-3 and 11-2.

Komal Khan beat Haleema 3-0 in 17 minutes, 11-2, 11-1 and 11-4. Laiba Ejaz beat Roma Yousaf 3-1 in 23 minutes, 11-6, 7-11, 11-7 and 11-5. Bushra Khalid beat Aroma Butt 3-1 in 20 minutes, 11-1, 3-11, 11-7 and 11-6 and Noor Fatima beat Bushra Khalid 3-0 in 16 minutes, 11-8, 11-5 and 11-3.
