Islamabad - Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Islamabad police have arrested five hardened criminals after police encounters in forest area of sector F-10 and G-10, a police spokesman said yesterday.

Following the directions of SSP Islamabad Sajid Kiani, special task was assigned by SP (Investigation) Muhammad Ilyas to DSP CIA Bashir Ahmed Noon for ensuring arrest of those involved in various dacoities and crime cases of heinous nature. A special team was constituted to ensure arrest of those hardened criminals after a few reported cases. On a tip off, this team raided the forest area of sector F-10 and G-10 (Nazim Uddin Road) and succeeded to arrest five dacoits after police encounter, besides recovering weapons and ammunition from them. The nabbed criminals have been identified as Nazeer Khan, Sher Agha, Adil, Aaqib and Kamran Khan. They have confessed striking in various areas of Kohsar, Karachi Company, Aabpara, Shamas Colony and Shalimar police stations, the spokesman said.

He said the criminals used to barge in the houses, cut the grills of windows and loot the houses after making inmates hostage at gunpoint. Further investigation is under way from them and another police team has been constituted to arrest their other accomplices managed to escape after taking advantage of the darkness.
