A murder convict was sent to the gallows here at district jail on Tuesday morning.

Convict Sardar Ali had murdered a PPP activist during a dispute at a polling station in Chak 358/GB Mughli, Rajana, during general elections 1993. He was sentenced to death by the District and Sessions court in 1996. Later, his appeals were rejected by the apex courts while the President of Pakistan also turned down his appeal for clemency.–Staff Reporter
