ISLAMABAD  - In occupied Kashmir, the Kashmir Martyrs Day, will be marked with complete strike all across the territory today and large gathering at Mazar-e-Shuhada at Naqashband Sahib in Srinagar. The APHC Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has said that the day will be observed as Youm-e-Istaqlal to reaffirm Kashmiris' resolve that the sacrifices of the liberation martyrs will never be allowed to go waste, come what may, KMS reported.  He said that the strike would not affect the transport so that people did not face difficulties in reaching the Mazar-e Shuhada.  where a big rally will jointly be addressed by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Syed Ali Gilani. It was on this day in 1931 that the Dogra troops shot dead 22 Kashmiris one after the other in front of Srinagar Central Jail. APHC AJK Chapter and other organisations of Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir have also planned to hold fateha, seminars and conferences on the occasion.
