LAHORE The World Junior Golf Championship commences at Fife in Scotland from July 13 and this time Pakistan has been allowed a slot in which Mubraiz Ahmed, a 15 year old O level student of Karachi, has earned the right to represent the country. He was selected for this world event by virtue of his stunning performance in the national juniors trials where he emerged as the foremost one surpassing the performance of many other talented hopefuls of the country. Certainly, this is going to be a great occasion for Mubraiz, as he will be pitched against world-class talent and besides participating in the World Junior Golf Championship, Mubraiz will be a guest of Royal and St Andrews the governing body of golf, to witness the British Open Golf Championship. Accompanying him is Secretary Pakistan Golf Federation Taimur Hassan who stated that Mubraiz has ample talent and gives hope of emerging as a spearhead in Pakistans amateur golf. Mubraiz turned to golf five years back and his performances comprise a long list with significant ones being his victory in the President Gold Medal Championship.
