The plight of southern Punjab is visible if we compare them while traveling from one side to the other. Undoubtedly southern Punjab has been neglected, by all civil and military regimes in the past and that is why the infrastructural development, technological advancement, transport, education and health facilities of this area are far behind the rest of the developed province. It is good to note that the PML-N has allocated Rs.119 billion for the development of Southern Punjab for financial year 2014-15. According to a report, this hefty allocation will be utilized for the promotion of education, healthcare and social sector. The people of Southern Punjab have started feeling some hope that change and uplift will come to their part of the world also which was badly needed as it left one part of the province depleted and undernourished.
