AFC EXCO endorses success of Faisal as PFF chief

LAHORE - The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Executive Committee (EXCO) meeting Saturday endorsed the elections in four countries including Pakistan, Sri Lanka, North Korea and Maldives. According to information made available here Sunday, the AFC EXCO met in Manama, Bahrain on Saturday which was presided by AFC president Sheikh Salman Bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa and was also attended by PFF president and AFC Executive Committee member Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat.
Besides discussion on other agenda points, the AFC executive committee congratulated Makhdoom Faisal Saleh Hayat on his re-election as the Pakistan Football Federation president for next term from 2015 to 2019. Faisal Saleh Hayat also thanked the AFC EXCO members and said: “On behalf of the entire Pakistan football family, I am thankful to all members of AFC EXCO and with the support of FIFA and AFC, the journey of football development in Pakistan will be kept continue.
“The PFF will support all such efforts at Asia and World level done for the betterment of football and we, the PFF, will keep on playing our active role in this regard,” Faisal added. Referring to the growth of football in the last decade, Faisal mentioned the revolutionary steps taken by the PFF which resulted in phenomenal development of the game in the country. “When I took over as PFF chief, there was no infrastructure of football in Pakistan even the PFF secretariat was nowhere. With the support of FIFA and AFC, we brought in vital football infrastructure projects in Pakistan of worth Rs 50 crore while two artificial turfs have also been allocated to Pakistan of worth Rs 12 crore out of which installation of one will be completed in December 2015 at Khanewal Goal Project. In this regard, FIFA concerned official has already visited Khanewal in the recent times,” the PFF chief said.
