MUZAFFARABAD - Hundreds of people took out a protest rally and burnt Indian flags and effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi against killing of innocent Kashmiri people in Held Kashmir here on Tuesday.

Hundreds of people mainly refugees from camps gathered outside Press Club and marched towards Gharipan Chowk. They were chanting slogans against India against killing of dozens of Kashmiri people by its security forces.

The restive valley is reeling under violence. Curfew was imposed after violent protests over the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen's young fighter Burhan Wani.

Protesters included leaders from Kashmir refugee organization Pasban Hurriyat Uzair Ghazali, Kashmir Justice Forum's Mushtaqul Islam and PTI's senior leader Kh Farooq. They set the Indian flags and portraits of Indian prime minister on fire.

Addressing the protesters, speakers denounced the Indian brutalities against innocent Kashmiris and demanded of the UN and OIC to take notice of the situation and send a special envoy to ascertain the facts. They also condemned the inaction of world bodies and big powers.

Protesters also paid rich tribute to martyred young commander.

Meanwhile, Hizbul Mujahideen has appointed Mehmood Ghaznavi as its commander in its meeting held here on Tuesday and re-affirmed its resolve to continue fight against Indian forces till the liberation of Held Jammu and Kashmir.
