PESHAWAR - National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa arrested ex-tehsildar, Syed Masood Shah along with his associates Mahaz Khan, Imrose Khan Hussain Khalil (private persons) involved in corruption and corrupt practices.
The corrupt practices of the accused persons caused loss of more than Rs 50 million to national exchequer during acquisition of 500 kanal land for Worker Welfare Board at Mouza Shahi Bala District Peshawar.
According to details, the accused persons manoeuvred the acquisition process in order to gain kickbacks/commissions, thereby facilitated and abetted the offence of corruption and corrupt practices.
As per details, Worker Welfare Board (WWB) acquired land measuring 500 kanals for construction of Labour Complex at a price of Rs 275 million, while an amount of more than Rs 90 million was embezzled by the accused persons.
An amount of about Rs 10 million has been recovered so far during investigation.
It merits mentioning here that Raza Shah, Ilyas Patwari and Muhammad Idrees have previously been arrested in the instant case.
Three accused person were produced before the Accountability Court and eight days custody has been obtained while accused Syed Masood Shah will be presented today (Wednesday) before Accountability Court for obtaining physical custody. Further investigation is being actively pursued by NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and more alarming facts are on cards.
