MIRPUR (AJK)-In the wake of the PML-N and PPP workers clash here, Chief Election Commissioner of Azad Jammu & Kashmir Ghulam Mustafa Mughal suspended Deputy Commissioner Sardar Tahir Mahmood and SP Yasin Baig of Haveili District from service for dereliction of duties.
Last Saturday, tension had sparked in Haveili town after two PML-N activists were shot dead and 15 others including the N candidate from Haveili Ch Aziz were injured during a bloody clash between the workers of PPP and PML-N in the town . In the State’s capital, the chief election commissioner said that preliminary report about a tragic incident of Haveili district has reached to him. “Stringent action is being initiated in the light of the inquiry report against the perpetrators and other responsible of the tragic episode,” the CEC said.
He said that Abdul Hamid Mughal and Muhammad Musa Khan have been ordered to take the charge as deputy commissioner and superintendent of police respectively replacing Tahir Mahmood and Yasin Beig.
The deceased PML-N activists were identified as Qamar Din and M Younis, both residents of Haveili district.
