LAHORE - City police yesterday busted a prostitution racket by arresting eight persons including four women during a successful raid at a brothel in the Factory Area.

A 40-year-old woman named by police as Mai Sughran was running the brothel from a rented house located in the Punjab Housing Society, adjacent to DHA. The local police conducted the raid on a tip-off and arrested four men and as many women from a house in the society. The arrests were made after the police searched all the rooms one by one.

According to police, four sex workers were rescued from the brothel. The woman had told the people in the neighbourhood that these women were hired by her for the spa and massage parlour. But in fact, they were sex-workers.

The sex workers and their clients were put behind the bars after the police registered a criminal case against them. Further investigations were underway.

MULE HELD: Police arrested a drug-pusher from Kahna and seized 5kg charas from his possession.

The drug dealer was identified by CIA police as Mushtaq Ahmed Dudhi, who was supplying narcotics to his clients in universities hostels, parks, and cinema halls. The police also registered a criminal case against the drug dealer. Further investigation is in process.
