Rabbani condemns state terrorism in Held Kashmir

Islamabad - Chairman Senate Mian Raza Rabbani yesterday said that use of state terrorism by India on innocent and peaceful civilians exercising their democratic right of protest in Indian Held Kashmir must be condemned in the strongest terms.

“These acts of India on the people of Occupied Kashmir are a blatant violation of international norms and fundamental rights, particularly the right to life, right to freedom of expression, right to peaceful protest and the right to peaceful assembly,” the chairman said in a press statement.  He added that such blatant violation of internationally recognised rights is deplorable. The double standard of the world has, once again, been exposed as they watch silently the massacre of innocent civilians, he said. “It is strange how India’s new strategic partners continue to watch in silence these crude violations of international norms.”

The history of the struggling people is testament to the fact that legitimate and lawful rights cannot be suppressed through state oppression, he concluded.
