The federal cabinet has approved the proposals for upcoming budget for fiscal year 2009-10, report said on Saturday. The cabinet met with Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani in chair to review and finalize the suggestions of upcoming budget for fiscal year 2009-10. Reportedly, Adviser to Prime Minister on Finance Shaukat Tarin and Minister of State for Finance Hina Rabbani Khar called on the PM before the meeting and later briefed the cabinet on the upcoming budget and the economic situation during current fiscal year. The government is set to unveil the consolidated budget today with an outlay of over Rs2.9 trillion based on uncertain external flows. Hina Rabbani Khar will present the budget in national assembly. The federal budget is likely to hover around Rs 2.2 trillion with current expenditures of Rs 1.5 trillion and development expenditures of Rs 261 billion.
