MIRPUR (AJK) - The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) is contemplating bring a Bill in the Parliament to get ensured the due representation of Overseas Pakistanis in the National as well as all the four Provincial Assemblies of Pakistan, said Minister of State for Overseas Pakistanis Dr Nadeem Ehsan. He was talking to reporters at PWD Rest House Mirpur on Sunday. Parliamentary Secretary on Overseas Pakistanis Farhat Muhammad Khan, OPF Managing Director Ehsan Jamali, Director Mirpur Zahoor Ahmed Solangi, Assistant Director Zaheer Ahmed Warriach and Welfare Officer Masood Akhter Raja and other officials of OPF were also present on the occasion. The minister earlier visited the bereaved families of those ill-fated 14 kids who lost their lives following skidding of a school van in upper Jhelum canal near Mirpur on Friday and expressed his sympathies on behalf of the MQM. He continued that Federal Minister Dr Farooq Sattar, on the directives of MQM Quaid Altaf Hussain, had already reiterated the desire to make efforts for bringing a bill in the National Assembly for formal legislation to get ensured the representation of the overseas Pakistanis in the national and provincial assemblies. He said that the overseas Pakistanis were valuable assets of the country and the government would spare no effort to resolve their problems. Dr Ehsan said that one window system was being introduced in OPF to resolve problems of overseas Pakistanis including millions of overseas Kashmiris settled in various parts of the world including Britain and other European countries. About financial assistance to the bereaved families, the minister said that necessary arrangements would be made for dispensation of compensation to the bereaved families. He said that the Ministry of Kashmir Affairs would also be moved with the necessary recommendations for the early grant of financial relief to the families to the 14 school kids who lost their lives in the accident.
