OKARA - In a move to curb land grabbing, two complaint cells have been set up in the office of District Coordination Officer on the instructions of the Punjab government, according to a press release issued here on Sunday. A cell, headed by DCO Capt (r) Saif Anjum, will deal with state land with District Police Officer, Additional District Collector, Assistant Commissioner concerned and TMO concerned as its members. While Additional Collector Zaheer Abbas Malik will be the in charge of the cell dealing with privately-owned land with District Public Prosecutor, additional and district and sessions judge (r) Abdul Razzaq and EDO Revenue (r) Nawaz Sukhera as members. Okara DCO Capt (r) Saif Anjum has said that prompt action will be taken against land grabbers when a complaint is registered with the cell. He said that the Punjab government is committed to launching a crackdown on land mafia and all-out steps are being taken in this regard.
