VEHARI - Hundreds of brick-kiln owners took out a rally and staged a protest against the levy of 16 percent Sales Tax on the sale of bricks here on Sunday. As per detail, they took out the rally from Jinnah Road which culminated at Press Club here. The protesters were carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans in favour of their demands. They chanted slogans against the government and termed its polices as anti-business and anti-masses. On the occasion, they warned that if the government did not take back the decision they would take out a long march and stage a sit-in in front of Parliament House in Islamabad. Speaking on the Markazi Anjuman-e-Tajaran President Mian Sajid Hanif and Secretary General Irshad Hussain Bhatti said that after the implementation of sales tax, people would not be able to even construct a house. Bricks Kiln Owners Association President Sheikh Amin Ullah and General Secretary Sheikh Khalid Masood also addressed the rally.
