QUETTA-Seven people, including three miners were killed and 20 others wounded in two separate incidents of road mishap and coalmine blast in Ziarat and Spin Karez, in the outskirts of Quetta on Sunday. In the first incident, a passenger van carrying women and children was heading towards Ziarat from Dukki area of Loralai district when it fell into a deep ravine when it reached near Ziarat town while taking a turn. As a result, four people including a woman were killed and 20 others including children sustained injuries. The injured and dead were shifted to nearby hospital. The serious injured were shifted to Quetta for further treatment after providing them first medical aid. Police has started investigation into the incident. In another incident, three coal miners were killed in a blast in Spin Karez area,in the outskirts of Quetta. Sources said that three miners identified as Haji Gul, Nazir Ahmed residents of Swat and Pahind Khan resident of Quetta were working in a local coalmine in which a blast occurred due to accumulation of poisonous gases and poor ventilation system that resulted in the death of all three miners. Following the incident, local rescuers pulled out the bodies from mine while the bodies were later dispatched to their native towns.
