SIC forms body to select candidates for next polls

OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE - Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) has constituted a committee to start the process of gathering information of potential candidates for the next general elections in a bid to select the suitable names. SIC spokesman Muhammad Nawaz Khokhar made this announcement while talking to the media after the conclusion of two-day moot of the alliance at Jamia Rizvia under the chairmanship of Sahibzada Fazal Karim on Sunday, while leaders of member parties of the alliance were also present. He told that the meeting decided to set up the structure of Sunni Ittehad Council from centre to the union council level, preparing the manifesto, holding the all parties conference of ahle sunnat parties and national conference of the parties raising voice against the extremism. He further told that SIC moot also formed committees to make the alliances train march successful, starting September 11 from Karachi and conclude at Islamabad. The SIC moot demanded through their various resolutions for immediate steps from the government regarding ending the loadshedding, rising prices, unemployment, provision of justice, public trail of arrested terrorists, exemplanary punishment to the rangers personnel responsible for killing a youth in Karachi, transparent investigations into Abbotabad and Mehran Base incidents and facts should be made public, acting upon the Parliaments joint resolution in letter and spirit and meaningful talks with the US to stop drone attacks. SIC spokesman said that members of all the alliance parties reposed full confidence in the leadership of chairman SIC Sahibzada Fazal Karim.
