At least 18 persons including seven women and a minor were killed and eight others injured in different incidents of enmity and road mishaps over past 24 hours.

According to detail, in Jhang a man and his wife were killed in a road mishap. As per reports, Ahmed Faheem and his wife Bushra Bibi, residents of Qatalpur Tehsil Kabirwala were coming to Jhang on a bike. When they reached near Kot Mial on Shorkot Road a speeding oil-tanker hit them, killing Bushra on the spot while her husband sustained multiple injuries and was taken to THQ Hospital Shorkot where he succumbed to his wounds. The oil-tanker driver succeeded in escaping from the scene. The police have registered a case.

In another incident a student of MPhil was killed. According to available reports, Zahid Hussain, son of Bahadar Ali, a resident of Adda Solling situated on Jhang-Chiniot Road was going to Faisalabad on his bike to appear in Entry Test for PhD. As he reached near Ameenpur Bangla he fell from his bike while taking a turn and got critical wounds. He was admitted to Allied Hospital Faisalabad where he breathed his last. In another incident that took place in Mauza Syedan, one Shabbir Ahmed was electrocuted. As per report, Shabbir was repairing a pedestal fan when suddenly he sustained electric shocks and died on the spot.

In another mishap a motorcyclist was killed. Reportedly, Hafiz Bashir, a resident of Mauza Noushera was going on his bike when suddenly one of its tyres burst due to which his the bike rammed into a roadside tree. Resultantly he sustained serious injuries and died on the spot.

Similarly in another road mishap, a young man was killed. As per details, three cousin, resident of Basti Sialkot of Garh Mahraja were going on a bike. When they reached near Garh Morr a speeding car collided with the motorcycle, killing Masood Rehman, son of Khuda Bakhsh Khokhar, a Class 9th student on the spot while his two cousin Anees and Umer Farooq got critical wounds and were referred to Nihstar Hospital Multan.

On the other hand, a young man was gunned down over old enmity. As per details, sometime ago one Kazim alias Tipo abducted a close relative of one Abdul Jabbar identified as Nani and got marriage with her which irked Abdul Jabbar. The other night, Kazim and his wife Nani came to their home where Jabbar with help of his accomplices Jahanzeb, Ameer Khan, Munir, Zahid and Mudassar opened indiscriminate firing on Kazim and his family members. Resultantly, one Mathela cousin of Kazim died on the spot while Kazim, his father Yousaf and his sister Kalida Bibi sustained serious injuries and were admitted to hospital. The Mochiwala police have registered a case against six nominated alleged culprits and is investigatinig.

In TOBA TEK SINGH, a passenger fell from a moving train and died here near Dabanwala railway station. Deceased Ahmad Sher of Karachi was travelling on Pakistan Express train coming from Karachi when he slipped off from its door and fell down. As a result he sustained seriously wounds and was to DHQ Hospital by Rescue 1122 where he succumbed to wounds.

In another incident, a man was electrocuted here on Wednesday. Deceased Muhammad Rafiq was cleaning an electric water pump in Jamia Mosque Faridia in low income housing colony No 1 when he touched a live electric wire. As a result he died on the spot. On the other hand In KASUR, the police recovered mutilated bodies of a woman and her daughter from a house here the other day.

According to details, the neighbours felt stinking smell from a house located in Fazal Colony after which they informed the police. The police during search of the house found dead bodies of the woman and her daughter. According to police, 22-year-old midwife Irshaf was stabbed to death with a sharp edged weapon while her mother was strangulated to death.

The bodies were shifted to hospital for post-mortem. According to doctors, the deceased were killed some two days earlier. Similarly in HAFIZABAD, a 50-year-old villager died on the spot on Lahore-Sukhehe Road near Sukheke Mandi when he was hit by a speeding vehicle.

A middle aged woman Haleema Bibi of Chak Mouloo died after she was hit by a donkey-cart. In another incident, the dead body of a youngman was recovered from lower Chenab Canal near Chak Kharal and sent to DHQ Hospital for autopsy.

In HAVELI LAKHA, farmer killed his niece over refusal to marry his son here the other day. Reportedly, local farmer Taj Ahmad, a resident of suburban village Maloo-Shekoo Kaa killed his young niece Sajida Bibi over a family matter. He wanted to her married with his son but she refused at which in a fit of rage fired gunshots on her, killing her instantly. The police have registered a case.

In RAHIM YAR KHAN, Khail Din, a resident of Gulshan-e-Ummar told police that his brother Zahir Din was sitting in his home when his former wife Hameedan along with her incumbent husband Wahid Bakhsh forced their entry and started firing on him. Zahir sustained fatal gunshot wounds and breathed his last instantly. On information, the police reached the spot and took the dead body to hospital for post-mortem. In another incident Ghulam Sarwar, a resident of Hussainabad told the police in an application that he married off her daughter Zuhra Bibi to Allah Bachaya, a resident of Dawoalla two years ago. In the meantime Allah Bachaya on a petty issue tortured Zuhra and later poisoned to death. The accused with the help of his three accomplices threw her body into a watercourse. The police have registered a case against four accused after taking the dead body in the custody.

Meanwhile, a boy was killed when a speeding oil-tanker hit him on National Highway near Khanbela, some 100-km from here. Kaloo, 15, a resident of Mauza Rem of Khanbela was crossing National Highway when a speeding oil-tanker crushed him, killing him on the spot. The police shifted the dead body to hospital for autopsy.
