ISLAMABAD - The government has earmarked Rs 169,165.425 million for power sector in the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for the year 2013-14 for ongoing and new projects. According to the budgetary document released on Wednesday, out of the total allocation, Rs 25,150 million has been allocated for construction and land acquisition of Diamer Basha dam, Rs 25,045 million for Neelum Jhelum Hydropower Project, Rs 13,790 million for Tarbela Fourth Extension Hydro Power project, Rs 3359 for Keyal Khawar Hydro power project. A sum of Rs 5,510 million has been specified for Golan Gol Hydro Power Project, Rs 3291 million for Dubair Khawar Hydro Power Project, Rs 1745 million for Dasu Hyrdro Power Project and Rs 1411 million for Jinnah Hydro Power Project. Similarly, the government earmarked Rs 10,000 million each for 425 MW Nadipur Power Project and 525 MW Combined Cycle Thermal Power Plant (Sheikhupura), Rs 8783 million for 747 MW Guddu Power Project and Rs 4,000 million for addition of 500/220 kv substation T/L to strengthen existing NTDC System.
