Islamabad -The federal government has earmarked a total amount of Rs 6259.166 million for the law and order related and other development projects of the interior division under the head of Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for the fiscal 2013-14.

Though the law and order is a devolved subject under the 18th Amendment and now it is the prime responsibility of the provinces yet civil armed forces, Islamabad Capital Territory Administration (ICTA), ICT Police, FIA are some of the major attached departments that come under Interior Division, besides some others.

Under the head of non-development budget (expenditures), total amount of Rs 65,146,125 have been estimated for the ministry of interior for fiscal 2013-14 and out of which Rs 603,430 for interior division, Rs 5,929,428 for Islamabad, Rs 1,222,332 for passport organisation, Rs 32,363,299 for civil armed forces, Rs 6,244,720 for Frontier Constabulary, Rs 1,485,097 for Pakistan Costal Guards, Rs 14,495, 005 for Pakistan Rangers and Rs 2,802,814 have been estimated for other expenditures of the interior division.

Out of the total Rs 6259.166 million allocation under PSDP, Rs 1779.548 million have been allocated for 43 new schemes of interior division while Rs 4479.618 million have been specified for its 92 ongoing projects. However, the total allocated money for the interior division contained no foreign aid component and all amounts would be generated from the local federal resources.

Among significant projects under the head of new schemes, Rs 421 million have been earmarked for the construction of accommodation for Sui Rifles of FC Balochistan, Rs 57.500 million for the construction of 12 border posts for FC Balochistan, Rs58 million for the construction of 20 under-construction magazines for Units Sector HQ South, FC Balochistan, Rs 26.611 million for the construction of litigant shed and other allied facilities in F-8 Markaz Islamabad, Rs 14.753 million for construction of parameter boundary wall around Sector HQ Chenab Rangers at Sialkot, Rs 58.335 for the construction of police barracks (western side) at Plot no.18-A, Sector G-13 Markaz, Islamabad, Rs 33.827 million for the construction of road from Shah Allah Ditta Road to Link Lubhana Road ICT, Rs 53.651 million for feasibility study of construction of bridges in rural areas of ICT and Rs 15.575 million each have been allocated for provision of video conferencing facilities for District and Session Division East and West Islamabad.

Under the head of ongoing schemes, Rs 10.530 million have been earmarked for construction of Judicial & Administration Complex ICT, Rs 400 million for establishment of National Forensic Science Agency Islamabad, Rs 329.256 million for Integrated Border Management System (IBMS), Rs 745.372 million for Machine Readable Passports /Visa Project,

Rs 147.735 for National Response Centre for Cyber Crimes (NR3C), Rs 152.999 million for Pakistan Automated Fingerprint Identification System (Phase II) and Rs 300 million for procurement of Non-Intrusive Vehicles X-Ray Inspection System (NVIS) Islamabad.
