Seven persons including two women and a child were killed and 28 others injured in different incidents of violence, enmity and road mishaps over the past 24 hours.

According to details, in Hafizabad four persons including two women and a child were killed on the spot while 15 others seriously injured in a road mishap near Kot Sarwar Interchange on Motorway, some 25-km from here on Thursday.

According to police source, an Islamabad-bound bus (LES-8946) collided with a trailer and subsequently overturned while overtake it near Kot Sarwar Interchange. Resultantly, four passengers including two women and a child died on the spot while 15 others badly injured and were rushed to different hospitals. According to hospital sources, condition of Fayyaz, Isha and Ahmed is stated to be critical. The identity of the deceased could not be established so far. The dead bodies have been shifted to city morgue by the Motorway Police. The mishap took place due to peeding.

In Sheikhupura, two labourers were suffocated to death while cleaning a sewerage well here in Muridke. The deceased namely Liaqat and Shahid were cleaning a sewage well in the locality when they fainted and were taken to THQ Hospital where doctors pronounced them as dead. The deceased were the residents of Narang Mandi and had come to Muridke to earn livelihood. The City Muridke Police are investigating.

Meanwhile, the dead body of an unidentified addict was found lying in city area Batti Chowk. The City A Division Police took the body for autopsy to hospital.

Meanwhile, in Faisalabad, a youth was gunned down over old enmity here on Thursday. Reportedly, 28-year-old Muhammad Nawaz, a resident of Thatha Kathia located in the jurisdiction of Bhalak Police was having a clash with an outlaw identified as Aslam some days back. He was on the way when the accused opened indiscriminate firing on him. Resultantly he was critically injured and admitted to hospital where he breathed his last.

In another incident, a mentally-retarded boy cut his throat with a sharp knife on Thursday. Liaquat Ali, 20, a resident of garden colony located in the limits of Nishatabad Police cut his throat with a knife over unknown reason. He is said to be mentally-retarded and was shifted to Allied Hospital where his condition is critical.

Similarly, a farmer was electrocuted while watering the fields. Abdul Gaffor of Chak 649/GB was watering the fields early morning when he got serious electric shocks from the tube well. Resultantly he died on the spot.
