RAWALPINDI - Two real sisters have accused their in-laws of torturing them and making an attempt to kill the younger one by giving poisonous pills in their house situated in Sadiqabad here on Thursday.

According to sources, a woman Gulnar Bibi told the local police that she and her younger sister Gulshan Bibi got married with two brothers in Sadiqabad. She stated that after marriage, differences developed between them and their husbands on which their in-laws often used to torture them.

She also said that they meanwhile left the house of husbands and started living with their parents. Later, their in-laws came and taken them back to home, she said adding that her father-in-law Muhammad Ashraf, mother-in-law Feroza Bibi and brother-in-law Rashid locked them in a room and resorted to severe torture. She added that her brother-in-law Rashid tried to kill her sister Gulshan Bibi by giving her poisonous pills.     

"Gulshan was brought to a local hospital in critical condition where she is under treatment," the applicant mentioned.

The police have field case and started investigation.

 The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) foiled a bid to smuggle heroin to Greece and arrested a suspected drug trafficker at the Benazir Bhutto Islamabad International Airport (BBIIAP), informed ANF Headquarters spokesman here on Thursday.

According to him, a team of ANF, on a tip-off, at the airport nabbed one Mudassir Iqbal from Gujrat and recovered 9-kg heroin from his possession. The heroin was concealed tactfully in his trolley bag; he said adding that the passenger was traveling to Greece via Abu Dhabi.

Similarly, ANF arrested Farman, Azam Khan and Muhammad Hanif, all residents of Attock, and recovered 3.5 kg Charas from their possession.  They were arrested at Bus Stop, Hattian GT Road, Tehsil Hazro, Attock. Another drug peddler namely Muhammad Ibrahim was also held by ANF after recovery of 250 grams of Charas from his possession.

On the other hand, ANF recovered huge quantity of narcotics and arrested 8 suspected smugglers besides seizing two vehicles, the spokesman added.
