LAHORE - A Mehfil-e-Qirat was organised to honour international famed Qari Syed Sadaqat Ali by Prof Hafiza Qaria Roabina at Khaddijatul Kubra Islamic Center on Thursday.
The ceremony was presided over by eminent Arabic teacher and former principal of Punjab University Oriental College Dr Zahoor Ahmad Azhar.
Dr Zahoor said that Qari Sadaqat Ali is bestowed with God gifted skill of Qirat and is known as one of the best Qari in the world. The guest of honour Principal Government Islamia College Cooper Road Prof Farzana Shaheen termed Qari Sadaqat an asset of the country.
Qari Sadaqat Ali said that he feels power in his voice during Qirat. He called for promotion of art of Qirat as Pakistan is far behind than the other Islamic countries.
Eminent Arabic teacher Hafiz Sadiq Faizi, Prof Bano Ashraf, Prof Khalid Mehmood Hashmi and Prof Hafizia Qaria Roabina paid a tribute to Qari Sadaqat. At the end, an honorary shield was awarded to Qari Sayyed Sadaqat Ali.
