Reference to the letter written by Dr. Muhammad Yaqoob Bhatti (June 11), wherein he has passed rather harsh judgment on Nawaz Sharif for being a glum, flabby and expressionless old person, and compared him with Shahbaz Sharif and Ishaq Dar as brimming with life and enthusiasm. I have no political affiliation. As a neutral, I feel it is not fair to pass such judgment on Nawaz Sharif because of his appearance.
If we critically examine leaders like Churchill, Roosevelt, Stalin, Mao Tse Tung, Ho Chi Minh we find the leaders at top positions are required to say a few words of great wisdom, consequences and ensure compliance, and not seen jumping from place to place trying to be omnipresent. It is fair to judge Nawaz Sharif on his policies which are confined to a few grand projects, to be paid by all, but not utilised by majority, depriving the common man of essentials such as clean water, proper healthcare, sewerage systems, safe school structures with essential facilities, cheap and speedy justice.
