LAHORE: The prices of about 80,000 medicines are likely to increase by eight percent from 1st July.
According to the details, the medicine manufacturing companies and other pharmaceutical industries have demanded to increase the prices of cancer, blood pressure, multi-vitamins, cough, asthma and hepatitis medicines while they have also suggested to raise surgical equipments cost as well.
Keeping in view the recommendation of companies, health ministry as per drug policy designated in 2014 has ordered 8 percent hike in medicine prices that will be implemented from 1st July.
On the other hand, the national and international pharmaceutical companies have got restraining notice by soaring the prices without government’s consent which has still not withdrawn.
