Pakistan asks Afghan govt to investigate Torkham border firing incident

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan today expressed its deep concerns over the reports of unprovoked firing incident at Afghan border, asking the Afghan government to immediately investigate into the matter.

According to a PM Office spokesman, the Government of Pakistan expressed its deep concerns about the security of Pakistani soldiers near the border, in relation to the reports of unprovoked firing by Afghanistan’s security forces on Sunday.

“We consider these unprovoked attacks unhelpful in Pak-Afghan relations and expect from the Afghan government to investigate this incident immediately, the spokesman added. 

Pak Army said late Sunday that the Afghan forces fired at the Torkham border crossing, injuring a Pakistani soldier.
