LAHORE - Religious parties leaders have vowed to counter America-Israel-India conspiracies against Pakistan by launching Pakistan Defence Movement across the country and uniting Pakistanis against the trio.

Addressing a Pakistan Defence Conference at Nasir Bagh here yesterday, the leaders said the drone attack on Taliban leader on Pakistani soil in Balochistan was the conspiracy of America against China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.

They were of the unanimous view that America wanted to prove that Balochistan was unsafe enough to become an economic hub of the country and it inclined to destroy the peace and order in the province which the Pak Army established after a long struggle.

Pakistan Defence Council (PDC), a conglomerate of more than a dozen religio-political parties, organised the gathering which was attended by a good number of people from different walks of life.

PDC chairman and JUI-S head Maulana Samiul Haq, Jamaat-ud-Dawa chief Hafiz Saeed, Jamaat-e-Ehlesunnat head Maulana Ahmad Ludhyanvi, son of late Hameed Gul Abdullah Gul, Jamiat Ehlehadith head Allama Ibtisam Elahi Zaheer, JuD leader Hafiz Abdur Rehman Makki and other leaders addressed.

The leader criticised the PML-N government for having a soft corner towards India which was the enemy of Muslims.

“Our government wants trade and economic relations with India at the cost of blood and sacrifices rendered by the people of Kashmir,” they said and vowed not to allow government to sell the blood of their brothers who had been fighting against the oppressive rule of India for decades. They condemned the recent India-America agreements and termed them a conspiracy against atomic programme of Pakistan.

“Why the US is supporting India to make it the member of nuclear supplier group even knowing about its anti-human activities and barbarism against the people of Kashmir,” they questioned.

Hafiz Saad and Samiul Haq, during their speeches, requested the people of Pakistan to be united for the defence of Pakistan and shun their minor difference.

They requested religious parties to play their active role to end sectarianism in the country and be united.

The participants chanted anti-India and anti-America slogans during the three hours long proceedings of the conference.
