Peshawar: People belonging to various villages in Peshawar took to streets today, to protest against the prolonged load shedding in outskirts of Khazana area.

Power cut continues in Khazana and surrounding villages during the holy month of Ramazan.

The load shedding has forced the residents to come out of their homes and stage protest against the outage.

The protesters blocked the Charsadda road for traffic which resulted in long queues of vehicles.

The people also chanted loud slogans against Pesco and sieged the Khazana police station. Heavy contingent of police reached the scene to control the situation.

SP Rural Shakirullah Bangash negotiated with the protesters for a long time who ultimately agreed to end the protest. The traffic on Charsadda road was restored after seven hours.
