Punjab allocates Rs 18.471b for justice administration

LAHORE: The Punjab government has allocated Rs 18.471 billion for administration of justice in the budget for the fiscal year 2016-17.

According to the budget documents, Rs 15.593 billion will be spent on salaries of the employees whereas remaining amount of Rs 2.877 billion has been reserved for non-salary expenditures.

An amount of Rs 3.317 billion has been reserved for the High Court whereas session courts will receive Rs 5.211 billion.

An amount of Rs 8.670 billion has also been allocated for civil courts, which is higher than the last year's.

Special courts will get Rs 128.159 million and Courts of Small Causes will receive Rs 31.786 million.

Rs 274.578 million has been reserved for the Punjab Judicial Academy, and the Solicitors Department will get Rs 41.915 million.

Mufassil Establishment will get Rs 442.859 million whereas Advocate General office will receive Rs 335.126 million.
