IGP Islamabad takes notice of man’s death in CTD custody

ISLAMABAD - Inspector General of Police (IGP), Islamabad, Qazi Jameel-ur-Rehman took notice of the incident where an accused was died in custody of Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) on Friday night. 
The officers involved in the negligence have been arrested after registering a case against them. 
IGP had ordered an inquiry into the incident and sought a report from Senior-Superintendent of Police (SSP) Investigation. 
“No one is above the law and strict legal action would be taken against those responsible for the death of the accused after conducting an inquiry,” said IGP. 
He said Islamabad Police stood with the family of deceased on this tragic incident. 
An independent and transparent investigation would be ensured, he said adding he himself was reviewing the progress into case.
