Afridi and other five skip training

KANDY - Captain Shahid Afridi and five other players opted out of the optional training of the team which travelled to Pallekele for an intensive training session on Saturday at the Pallekele stadium where Pakistan meets Zimbabwe on Monday. As the training was optional and players had the choice to miss the training which was within their right. Other who also did not accompany the team for training and preferred t rest were Abdul Razzaq, Shoaib Akhtar, Umer Gul, Hafeez and Misbahul Haq. Kamran Akmal who is under constant pressure after his miserable keeping against Kiwis was among those who travelled thirteen kilometers to the east to train. The team will hold a full training session today (Sunday) on the eve of the match which would be day and night affair. Pakistan would need to clinch the match weather permitting to clinch maximum two points to leave open the race to the top of the table. Their March 19 match against Australia in Colombo would be crucial and decide who would clinch the top place in the group league. anisuddin khan
