QUETTA - Six members of the same family were killed in a rocket attack by unidentified people in Jaffarabad district on Saturday while five people, including four police personnel were wounded in a landmine blast and firing incident in Chattar and Pet Feeder areas of Balochistan. Official sources said that unidentified people fired five several mortar shells and rocket launchers in RD 298, a bordering area between Jaffarabad and Dera Bugti districts. A rocket launcher hit residence of Pehalu Khan Bugti in Gott Hyer-ud-Din in the jurisdiction of RD 298 police station. As a result, Pehalu Khan Bugti, his wife and his four younger daughters were killed in the attack. The residence was also badly damaged in the attack. Sources said that attack was carried out on night between Friday and Saturday from nearby mountains when one of rockets hit the house of Pehalu Khan. The victims were asleep when this incident occurred. Following the attack, police rushed to the site and moved the bodies to Suhbatpur Hospital for autopsy and after completing legal formalities handed over them to heirs. The relatives of the deceased placed bodies on Sindh Balochistan National Highway and strongly condemned the attack. They alleged that security forces fired rockets targeting the house of Pehalu Khan. However, official sources strongly rejected their claims. In another incident, three policemen and an official of WAPDA received injures in a landmine blast in Chattar area of Naseerabad district. Sources said that WAPDA XEN Taj Muhammad was passing from Chattar area along with another worker and policemen for repairing of damaged pylon when his vehicle rolled on a landmine laid by unknown militants. As a result, Taj Muhammad, ASI Rasool Bakhsh, Constable Rab Nawaz and an unknown person sustained injuries while vehicle was badly damaged in the blast. Levies personnel rushed to the site and moved the injured to hospital for treatment. In another incident, a policeman identified as Ghoram received injuries when unidentified people attacked a police picket in Pet Feeder area. Attackers escaped when policemen fired back in retaliation. Meanwhile, personnel of Frontier Corps recovered a landmine laid by militants in Mir Hassan area of Chattar and called bomb disposal squad which defused it.
