Fresenius Medical Care’s awareness activity

LAHORE (PR): International Society of Nephrology (ISN) and International Federation of Kidney Foundation (IFKF), in collaboration with renal community all over the world, commemorated World Kidney Day the other day by organising public lectures, walks, seminars, symposia and other activities. Fresenius Medical Care, a German multinational company involved in dialysis products & services, considering its corporate social responsibility also participated in these events. The employees of Fresenius Medical Care Pakistan, under the leadership of their Managing Director Javaid Nasir Qureshi, spent whole day with people of Lahore on roads, streets, shops, gardens & parks over a roadshow float carrying public messages.

They also distributed educational pamphlets during the activity and provoked people to take sufficient amount of water on daily basis to keep kidneys healthy and functioning. The activity was highly appreciated by the people.

Mobilink event on 15th

LAHORE (PR): On Tuesday, 15th March, Mobilink’s representatives will be judging startups on Mobilink MYM (Make Your Mark) Entrepreneurial Connect Day in a bid to choose winners, who will go on to form a successful business partnership with Mobilink.

Divided in to two stages – ‘Elevator Pitches’ and ‘Deep Dive for New Digital Ventures’- the event will see judges score and assess participating start-ups for their business foresight and experience, time to market and potential for growth. The start-up teams will also get a chance to further understand the prospective digital businesses and explore potential commercial linkages with respective departments of Mobilink.

The winning start-up will also hold a preliminary discussion about the financial arrangements (revenue sharing, equity etc.), a way forward and mutual expectations of the business partnership with Mobilink.

Dr Faheem selected for ‘HERMES’ in Germany

LAHORE (PR): Dr Faheem Khurshid Butt has been selected for Georg Forster Research Fellowships (HERMES) for post-doctoral researchers in Germany by Alexander von HumboldtFoundation. It is recognised as one of the prestigious research award and requires a rigorous/stringent selection criterion. This program is for academics from developing countries to do research relevant to development policy which, being carried out in Germany, facilitates the transfer of knowledge and technologies to developing countries. Dr Faheem Butt will be engaged in research with his Host Professor at Technische Universität München (TUM) (QS world Ranking= 60th). The program of this fellowship is divided into two parts i.e. German Language Course (2 months) and the research work at host institution (2 years).
