KHYBER AGENCY  - The tribesmen of Khuga Khel tribe have denounced execution of phase-one plan of the establishment of Torkham terminal, and blamed the officials for setting up the scheme without consultations with the property owners - the Khuga Khel tribe.

The tribal elders including Haji Khayal Mohammad, Mufti Ijaz, Malik Rasool Jan, Hukam Jan and others in a press conference held at Khyal Mohammad Hujra on Saturday said that on the insistence of the officials of National Logistic Cell (NLC), Customs and the Administration, 432 kanals personal and non-commercial property was provided in Torkham for establishment of terminal, however, they added the officials forcibly materialized their phase-one plan in commercial area of Torkham.

They said that on pretext of security measures concrete barriers and wire fences had been constructed around the commercial markets of Khuga Khel, and all entry and exit points were suspended towards the business centers that multiplied miseries of the traders.

Till resolution of the issue no new construction scheme in Torkham would be acceptable and if the officials utilized force for its implementation, they would start indefinite agitation against it, they said. Movement has been initiated to safeguard the interests of the Khuga Khel tribe and in this regard a huge rally would be held on Monday from Landi Kotal to Torkham to lodge their protest.
