KARACHI - Police claimed to have arrested four alleged militants of Tehreek-e-Taliban, Punjabi group including a student of Karachi University and recovered arms and explosives from their possession after a raid which was conducted in the limits of Peerabad police station. City Police Chief Saud Mirza at a Press conference here on Thursday at Garden Police Headquarters disclosed the arrest of the said militants of TTP and recovered 25-kg explosives, 2 suicide jackets, 3 Kalashnikovs, 6 grenades, 3 pistols, a LMG rifle and various detonators and electronic devices. The arrested men were identified as Habibullah, Habib-ur-Rehman, Baber Iqbal alias Bubli and their mastermind Maaz alias Irfan. The police chief said that Maaz used to lead the operatives and was currently studying in Applied Physics Department of University of Karachi. He said that a team of Crime Investigation Department headed by SSP Umer Shahid and SP Aslam Khan on a tip off raided and arrested the said militants. During the course of investigation, the militants confessed to have their link with TTP Bader Mansoor Group, affiliated with Punjabi Taliban.
