LAHORE - A banking court on Thursday adjourned hearing of the National Insurance Corporation Ltd scam case till May 25 as copies of the record were to be provided to the main accused, Moonis Elahi, which will now be given to him on the next date of hearing. Mooniss counsel could not appear before Judge Malik Abdul Rasheed due to strike by lawyers in connection with the May 12 [2007] incidents of Karachi killings. The court is likely to frame charges against Moonis, the son of former chief minister Pervaiz Elahi, who allegedly opened bogus bank accounts to pocket the NICL money through theses accounts. The counsel, however, later told the media persons that the FIA had submitted a complete challan against his client (Moonis).
