ISLAMABAD (INP) - Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani telephoned PML-N Chief Mian Nawaz Sharif on Thursday and invited him to attend the in-camera joint session of the Parliament on Friday (today). Sources said Nawaz Sharif has politely expressed his inability to attend the session which will be briefed about the Abbottabad incident by the officials of armed forces and security agencies. The sources further said that during the telephonic call, the two leaders exchanged views on the PML-N Chiefs demand for formation of judicial commission to investigate Abbottabad incident and prevailing political situation in the country. Meanwhile, Nawaz Sharif expressed his reservations over meeting of Punjab Chief Minister with Chief of Army Staff on May 2 and said that he was not informed of the meeting in advance. Talking to senior journalists in Islamabad on Thursday, Nawaz said he had conveyed his displeasure to Shahbaz and directed him not to meet any senior army officer including Army Chief again. He said unless and until the Army and the ISI were delinked from the politics, the country cannot make progress. He said the government has not contacted him so far about the formation of judicial commission to investigate the Abbottabad episode. He said if the government responds in a positive manner, the three-day time period could be extended.
