ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) SVP and spokesman Irshad Ahmad Bhatti said Thursday that Pakistan's No 1 Aqeel Khan will be sent abroad to appear in the different ITF events with the federations President approval. He said it was up to Aqeel to decide in which tournament he wants to play. He said the PTF President Kaleem Imam had ordered to release a special grant of US $2000 for Pakistan's No I woman player Ushna Sohail, who was currently playing in the US. Irshad further said the PTF would bear all the expenses of Sarah Mehboob if she wanted to play in Indian tournaments, adding: "However we can't afford to send his father, who is also the coach of Sarah to India, as PTF is facing acute shortage of funds." He said the HEC was making a tennis team of its own in which the PTF was helping it, as it was providing all facilities to it at PTF centre. He also announced to lay down a day-night tennis court in Sargodha soon after the Davis Cup a day-night invitational tournament would be held there. He said a three-day summer camp was successfully arranged at Bhakkar Mianwali, Khushab, Chiniot and Sargodha and 30 players had been selected out of them.
