LAHORE – Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Major (r) Mubashir retired on Saturday after completing his service tenure in police department whereas the Punjab Government has directed the officer to continue discharging his official duties till the notification is issued.
Sources said the Punjab chief secretary had moved a summary to the chief minister for an extension of two years in Major (r) Mubashir’s service, which is yet to be approved or rejected.
Sources added that in case the summary was rejected owing to multiple reasons, including a ban on retired officers by the Supreme Court, then Mubashir would be appointed as special advisor to the chief minister.
