FAISALABAD - The regional police officers of Faisalabad, Sheikhupura, Gujranwala and Sargodha have decided to launch collective operation in the criminals’ safe havens across the four divisions.
In the operation, trained commandos equipped with latest weapons would take part. Moreover, it was decided to launch campaign against carrying weapons and roaming with private security guards from May 15 against everyone including member assemblies.
A meeting was held under the chair of Faisalabad/Sheikhupura RPO Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema while Sargodha RPO Amjad Javaid Saleemi, Gujranwala RPO Amin Waince, Faisalabad CPO Bilal Saddique Kamyana, Gujranwala SSP (Operations) Kamran Yousaf, DPO Sargogha Muhammad Rizwan, Sheikhupura DPO Haider Ashraf, Hafazabad DPO Karamatullah Malik, Faisalabad SSP (Operations) Saddiq Dogar and other also attended the meeting. Faisalabad/Sheikhupura RPO Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema while addressing the media disclosed that it was decided in the meeting that special pickets would be set up under the supervision of DPOs and strict actions under law would be taken against the people carrying weapons after May 15. Private guards with even members of assemblies cannot carry weapons. He said that stern crack down will be launched against dangerous criminal gangs, dacoity and kidnapping for ransom accused persons and against cattle lifters.
He said, “We will work on intelligence sharing and eliminate all weak areas in this regard.” He added that all crime-related information will be shared under the divisional police on priority basis. RPO Sheikhupura Amjad Javaid Saleemi said that all arrangements had been made for the citizens and senior police officers to head the raids against the criminals so that common man cannot be disturbed.
The Gujranwala RPO said, “We will also share the data of gang arrested in our divisions as many gangs are arrested that belongs to other districts and they are also involved in many heinous crimes in other district too.”
