JUI-F Amir Maulana Fazlur Rehman has maintained that asking Prime Minister Gilani to quit will not be a big sacrifice for the ruling party to avert the clash of institutions.

In an interview to a private TV channel, he said perhaps President Zardari was finding it difficult to tell the prime minister to step down because of the allegiance he had showed. He said the prime minister had become controversial and now it was for the ruling party to take a decision about his fate. He denied that he had taken the initiative of reconciling differences between various political forces.  In response to a question, the JUI-F chief said no headway had been made on the letter he had sent to PML-N President Nawaz Sharif a few months ago. He said the letter was the story of the past.
