LAHORE-The Lahore High Court has been urged through a petition to restrain convicted Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani from approving the coming annual budget and conducting foreign visits.

Shaumail Raja advocate through his counsel Azhar Siddique filed the petition and submitted that PM Gilani was ineligible to approve the budget after the ruling of the Supreme Court in the contempt of court case.

He stated that according to constitution a convicted member of parliament could not approve the budget of a county. The petitioner said that all foreign tours of the premier were illegal after being convicted by the apex court.

He also requested the court to recover amounts being spent on foreign tours from the PM and his cabinet’s pockets.
