KARACHI  - Lord Mayor of Iranian City Mashhad had expressed deep interest in the mechanical slaughtering in Karachi. Syed Mohammad Pezhman who visited Karachi on the invitation of Administrator Karachi Muhammad Hussain Syed during a visit to Slaughter House in Landhi said both countries would soon sign an agreement for providing fresh and healthy meat to citizens of Karachi through a modern slaughter house.The Lord Mayor was accompanied by the Deputy Mayor Mashhad and other members of his delegation while Metropolitan Commissioner Matanat Ali Khan and other KMC officers were also present on this occasion. Mayor Pezhman said Pakistan was considered among topmost countries that produce good quality live stock, vegetables, fruits, cotton and rice, especially the textiles and leather products of Pakistan were liked all over the world including Iran. He said that is why these sectors needs especial focus.The Mashhad Mayor said Pakistan could supply meat to Iran especially to Mashhad as being the second biggest city of Iran Mashhad is visited by around 20million people each year.He said we will soon take a decision in this regard which would prove beneficial for both countries.Metropolitan Commissioner Matanat Ali Khan said a high level delegation from KMC will visit Mashhad this week where detailed talks would be held on various things including slaughtering.He told to Mayor Mashhad and his delegation that the Landhi City Abattoir was presently the biggest slaughtering facility in Pakistan with the capacity of providing 360 tons of halal meat on a daily basis.He said the meat supplied from this abattoir was healthy and germs free and the facility was supervised by doctors and other professional staff.The Mashhad Mayor and his delegation inspected the various sections of slaughter house and reviewed the facilities provided at this abattoir. Later they were presented with traditional Sindhi Ajrak and Cap.
