GHOTKI - Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah on Saturday said that PML-N Chief Nawaz Sharif has no future in politics. “The PML-N during its two tenures did nothing for the people of Sindh province and the masses across the country are with PPP Patron-in-Chief ZA Bhutto and late Benazir Bhutto,” he said while addressing a public meeting at Kamo-Shaheed.

The public meeting was also addressed by Federal Religious Affairs Minister Khursheed Shah, Sindh Assembly Speaker Nisar Khuhro and other PPP leaders.

Qaim said the PPP was not afraid of intrigues and threats, and vowed the PPP-led government would complete its constitutional tenure. “Why is Nawaz Sharif in a hurry? The months of November and December are not far away,” he added. He said the PPP would continue to pursue its policy of national reconciliation and work for the betterment of the poor and down-trodden people, farmers, youth and labourers. The people were with President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and the PPP, he declared.

The Chief Minister said the PPP was serving the masses with dedication and zeal, as they had always reposed confidence in the leadership of the party. “We are fully aware of the problems being faced by the people and taking measures to overcome them by providing employment opportunities,” he added. He said the PPP would emerge as victorious in the next general election as well. He said the people had voted for the PPP in the last general election and this party has come to power because of the struggle and sacrifices of late Benazir Bhutto and the workers of the party. He stated that the present government is the government of the poor and peasants and that it has served the people of the entire country without any distinction. He said the gathering of more than one million warned PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif not to challenge the people of Sindh or of Pakistan, because 50 million people would gather then to head for Lahore. He was of the view that politics was not the field fit for Nawaz. He said that Nawaz had taken the dictation of the dictator whereas the PPP runs the government in accordance with the wishes and aspirations of the masses. It has given employment to the jobless and empowered the women in the country. Qaim said the Kala Bagh Dam in no way would be constructed.

Former Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon said the PPP has shown a glimpse of its strength by holding a historical public gathering. He said the PML-N’s rally in Taxila was a rally of ‘patwaris’ and school teachers. He said the PML-N was joining hands with those Sindh-based politicians who had already been rejected by the masses. He said Sharif Brothers wanted to push the country back to the era of 1990s.

Meanwhile, President Asif Ali Zardari has congratulated PPP Sindh leadership for holding such a successful gathering.
