DASKA - Two children were killed and 10 other guests injured seriously, as a wall collapsed in a wedding house during the heavy rain early on Saturday morning in village Peero Chak-Motra.

The wedding place turned into a mourning spot after incident tragedy. The wedding ceremony of local trader Qaisar Sheikh was held at his home. On Walima ceremony, several guests including children were asleep in the courtyard, when the wall fell on them because of heavy rain followed by heavy dust storm. Resultantly, Hussain Karamat, 12, and Haroon Ashfaq, 11, died on the spot while Hussain, Farzana, Bushra, Aamir Abbas, Husnain, Awais, Ammara, Ashfaq Ahmed and Aghosh Ahmed were injured.

They were admitted to Govt Allama Iqbal Memorial DHQ Hospital Sialkot by Rescue 1122 personnel.  One injured Husnain was shifted to Mayo Hospital Sialkot due to his critical condition. He sustained serious head and brain injuries. The local people and rescuers pulled out the dead bodies and injured persons from the debris.

The atmosphere became mourning and gloomy in the village as several agonic scenes were witnessed when the two funerals were lifted from the house. The deceased were laid to rest in their native graveyard amid sobs and tears in the presence of hundreds of the mourners.
