KARACHI
The Majlis-e-Wahdatul Muslimeen on Sunday demanded re-polling in Karachi’s three seats of National Assemblies (NA-252, 253 & NA-257) and five Sindh Assembly seats (PS-117, 118, 126, 127, & 128).
In a statement, MWM central deputy general secretary Allama Amin Shaheedi accused the MQM of electoral rigging and demanded the Election Commission of Pakistan to ensure faire and transparent re-polling in the National Assembly and Provincial Assembly seats of Karachi.
“The MQM’s thappa again came into action and exercised force for massive rigging in Karachi,” he said.
Justifying his party’s demand, he said that balloting on a number of polling stations could not start by 12pm, as the ballot boxes, polling staff and other material were not available. He further said the ballot boxes were taken away from various polling stations, depriving the MWM supporters of their constitutional right.
