Following the directives of Chief Minister Najam Sethi, Punjab Police beefed up the security of Sharif family on Sunday.
Additional force had been deputed with PML-N President Nawaz Sharif, Shahbaz Sharif and their family for the security reasons. The chief minister had also directed the Punjab IGP to make further arrangements for the security of PTI chief Imran Khan inside and outside Shaukat Khanum Hospital after which more police personnel had been deployed.
Sethi said these steps had been taken to provide foolproof security to the national leaders.
Meanwhile, Sethi said the massive turnout of voters in the province reflected the confidence of the people in the foolproof arrangements made by the caretaker Punjab government for the transparent and peaceful conduct of elections.
