Governments and countries honour their selfless philanthropist, social workers and humanitarians, and as such we must all make efforts to honour Abdul Sattar Edhi for his relentless work. We must nominate him for a Noble Prize. He has worked hard and served humanity and he is one of the rare philanthropists, social workers, and humanitarians in Pakistan. He started his career as a street hawker, selling pencils and matchboxes in Karachi. Then in 1951, he opened a tiny dispensary in Karachi and now he is the head of a gigantic organization that consists of ambulances, clinics, maternity homes, lunatic asylums, homes for the physically and mentally handicapped, blood banks, orphanages, adoption centers, mortuaries, shelters for runaway children and battered women, schools, nursing courses, soup kitchens and a cancer hospital as well as a private helicopter for rescue efforts. For all his efforts our government must make sure that this year he is nominated for the Noble Prize. It is my humble request to the current Government on behalf of all Pakistanis.
