Various Education Department officials were accused by a teacher of violating the merit in preparing the pay-package seniority list of the teachers of Government Girls High School Thingi here.
Ms Javed Akhter submitted a complaint to the higher authorities including Vehari DCO Nasir Jamal that according to the seniority list of 2007, she was the most senior teacher and the second most teacher was Ms Azra Firdous. However, she alleged in the complaint, DEO Secondary Fozia Ijaz, clerk Muhammad Aslam and other staff including Azra Firdous violated the merit regarding preparation of the seniority list of SST teachers of the school.
Ms Akhter claimed that she was the most senior of the school teachers but she had not been included in the pay package seniority list of 2015 while the junior teachers had been included in it over their political influence.
She alleged that her name had been removed from the list by the DEO. In the wake of her complaint, she said, the DEO reached and school and threatened her of dire consequences if the latter does not withdraw her complaint. The affected teacher demanded that Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Education Department high ups should provide her with justice.
On the complaint, the Vehari DCO has ordered the EDO Education Shaukat Ali Tahir to inquire into the matter.
When contacted, the EDO education said that the inquiry into the matter would be carried out on merit while the DEO denied the allegations.
